Our local dancing/musical school often contacts me to create backgrounds for their theatre plays. December 2018 they came to me for the annual Sinterklaas musical. Several backgrounds had to be made consisting of seperate frames that could be animated! As well as two banner designs, which were used to decorate the sides of the podium.
Starting with an outside scene, which had to be able to switch between normal and snowy. To make for an interesting transition, I made sure this scene could seamlessly switch to a rooftop scene!
The main villain was supposed to be a mad scientist who desperately wanted the world to fall into another ice age. His laboratory was supposed to have a ''steampunky'' style, as well as moving cogs, blinking lights, a big machine and several monitors.
At last we have the inside of ''Het grote pietenhuis'', which has a snowy/dark windowed version for when the mad scientist starts up his ice machine.
The large banners (entirely too large to fit on this page, unfortunately) were printed out four times, then hung to the sides of the podium!
